“We are constantly innovating to create a bridge between wellness, beauty and fashion,” said Moh Ducis, founder and chief executive officer of Miami Swim Week The Shows. “Miami Swim Week The Shows exists to not just showcase brands, but to help identify the pain points for designers and connect them to the resources, consumers and support they need to continue to elevate their businesses.”
The Shows are redirecting their focus this year to boost new and emerging designers, with inclusivity, diversity and sustainability at the forefront. Primarily held at the SLS South Beach Hotel, The Shows will feature designers from Australia, France, the U.S., South America and Africa, displaying their ready-to-wear summer and resort styles. So far, the lineup includes Miami-based designer Ema Savahl; Australian-based designer Mars the label; European brand, Lascana; Liberty & Justice + The Made in Africa Collective; U.S. brand Salty Mermaid Swim; Canadian designer Olivia London; Mexican brand Liech Antel Swimwear; French brand Banana Moon; Peruvian brand Kene Kaya, and the Emerging Designer Collective.
Miami Swim Week The Shows will also introduce AR, VR, Virtual Marketplaces and blockchain technologies. Attendees will be offered beauty lounges, designer marketplace “splash” (pop-up” cash and carry marketplace), industry receptions and luncheons, impact panels featuring industry experts, exclusive parties, pop-up shops, networking events and the Hammock Trade Show for niche and sustainable brands for swim and resort. The venues hosting these activations will include SLS South Beach, National Hotel, Queen Miami Beach, Hyde Beach, Salvage Miami and Seaspice. Sponsors range from beverage/hydration to tanning and beauty/lifestyle brands.
For the third year in a row, Miami Swim Week The Shows will get the event started with a fundraising show to benefit The Little Lighthouse Foundation on May 29 at 8 p.m. at SLS South Beach. One hundred percent of all proceeds will support the nonprofit organization that assists underserved children and their families throughout South Florida. Little Lighthouse Foundation has more than 20 proprietary programs with 33 partner facilities including homeless shelters, hospitals and youth centers.
