More men are buying deodorant for their balls

You’ve probably heard of ‘intimate hygiene’ products for women before – in other words, things that make your supposedly nasty-smelling vagina smell like flowers again.

Despite the fact that we’re pretty sure now that using them is an unnecessary and not-very-good-for-you practice, it’s been a booming industry for years.

But at least men, as always, have been spared from this unnecessary worry, right?

Not any more, as men are turning out in their thousands to buy male intimate hygiene products.

They’ve existed for a while, such as Dry Goods, DZ Nuts, Fresh Balls and Driball, but they haven’t been nearly so successful in the past as they are now.

According to Tonic, sales of Bálla for Men jumped from 2,000 units in 2010 to 50,000 last year, while Man Powder saw sales spike by over 60%.

Women’s intimate hygiene products have drawn criticism for years, the idea being that they make money from telling you there’s a problem when there really isn’t.

Yet now, men’s worries about their genitals smelling are becoming profitable too, despite the fact that experts believe they usually needn’t worry.

“Mother Nature will find a way to beat all of these ball sprays and lotions,” Brian Steixner, director of the Institute of Men’s Health at Jersey Urology Group in Atlantic City, told Tonic.

“The only thing they really offer is psychosomatic relief. They’re not stopping ball sweat, but they will help a few guys get over their anxiety from thinking they have smelly balls.”
