Melanie Griffith glows with pride for rare public appearance in support of daughter Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnsonheld a special screening for the upcoming streaming series SLIP in Los Angeles on Tuesday, and she had a special guest by her side for support.

Melanie Griffith, 65, was on-hand to cheer her daughter on at the event, joined also by close friend Olivia Wilde and the show's star Zoe Lister-Jones.

The Working Girl actress looked as chic as could be in an off-white overcoat over a black turtleneck sweater, while Dakota opted for an all-black ensemble, featuring a blouse with pants and a coat.

The comedy – which will premiere on The Roku Channel on April 21 – is executive produced by Dakota's production company, TeaTime Pictures.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star called out her famous mom for sharing throwbacks of her on social media. "I don't like it, but I also don't go on social media, so I don't find out about it until it's really baked into the Internet, and somebody will send it to me like, 'Oh, you were so ugly — or you were so cute, when you had braces and a slicked back ponytail'," she said.

"I become like a 12-year-old and I'm like, 'Mom, you can't do that. We've had this conversation so many times!' She doesn't care."
