Meghan Markle's mum Doria rumoured to be moving to the UK
Meghan Markle’s mother – Doria Ragland – is rumoured to be moving to the UK in a bid to stay close to her daughter as she embarks upon her royal duties.
When the newlyweds tied the knot on May 19 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, it wasn’t merely self-confessed fans who shed a tear.
As the couple said their ‘I dos’, all eyes were on Doria. Clad in mint green Oscar de la Renta look, the mother of the bride was visibly moved by the ceremony and who can blame her?
Not only were the history-making nuptials watched by millions across the globe, the exchange of rings was a symbolic gesture to signify Meghan’s new role within the royal family.
And with the couple now preparing to embark upon regal life behind the gates of Kensington Palace, Doria is sure to miss her US-born daughter.
A royal insider revealed: “When she and Harry start a family it’ll be incredibly hard if her mum is 5,500 miles away.”
The mother and daughter duo have always been ‘best friends’, as Meghan wrote in her essay for Glamour magazine back in 2017: “We can just have so much fun together, and yet, I’ll still find so much solace in her support.”
It is widely speculated that Doria will return to the US next week to continue her work as a clinical therapist.
But if she does decide to move across the pond in the near future, then it won’t be long until we will see her at upcoming royal events.
And if the royal wedding is anything to go by, it seems as though she has already become firm friends with Harry’s father, Prince Charles.
