Meghan Markle's brother will invite her to his wedding
Thomas Markle Jr. is getting married in March and plans to invite his half sister Meghan and her husband Harry, according to The Daily Mail.
The window-fitter, 52, who lives in Grants Pass, Oregon, popped the question to his fiancée Darlene Blount, 38, last March. He hopes the “wedding will bring the family closer together.”
The Duchess of Sussex, who is due to give birth to her first child in spring, is estranged from Thomas Markle Jr. and her half sister Samantha.
Both have hit out at Meghan negatively on social media and in the press and neither reportedly received invitations to her and Harry’s royal wedding in May 2018.
Thomas Markle Jr. told DailyMailTV : “It’s hopeful that if Meghan and Harry came and my father – Meghan and Harry could spend some time together with him and that would be good.”
The Duchess and Mr Markle Jr. both share the same father – Thomas Markle Sr.
Meghan reportedly has had not had any contact with her dad since before her wedding, when he was caught staging paparazzi photos for money. He subsequently pulled out of walking his daughter down the aisle, due to health problems.
Mr Markle Sr. has given several TV interviews, in which he has revealed personal details of his relationship with his daughter, as well as pleading for her to get in touch with him.
The 74-year-old spoke to ITV’s Good Morning Britain in December and said he has “reached out” to Meghan every day but has had no response from her and even hoped that the Queen could help mend the rift.
