Meghan Markle has become one of the biggest style icons in the world since joining the Royal Family and every item she’s worn has flown off the rails, from that stunning striped Altuzarra dress she paired with an Oroton shoulder bag to her black velvet ankle boots from Tabitha Simmons last year.
The Duchess of Sussex has been busy guest editing the September Issue of British Vogue, and yesterday announced that she will also be launching a womenswear line with John Lewis, Jigsaw and M&S with collaboration with SmartWorks, a charity that helps support unemployed women looking for work.
In a recent post on the @SussexRoyal Instagram account, Meghan provided a bit of insight into the work she has been doing by sharing some photos of visits she made to SmartWorks whilst pregnant with Baby Archie. In the post, the Duchess said she was moved by “the impactful work” she saw when she met the charity.
In one of the photos, the Duchess is seen wearing a chic vintage Courreges coat which she layered over a pair of skinny jeans and Aquazzura “Deneuve” ballet flats. And it’s not the first time she’s opted for the stylish pair.
Earlier this year she made a surprise appearance with Prince Harry at the London Series baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. She was wearing a chic belted black Stella McCartney mini-dress which would have been too formal with a pair of heels, so the Duchess opted for the Aquazzura ballet flats for a more casual look.

The Italian luxury footwear label has been a go-to for the Duchess who has been pictured wearing plenty of Aquazzura for plenty of royal events, including her 2018 May wedding reception. She loves the label so much that she even declared to Who What Wear that Aquazzura was to her what LK Bennett is to the Duchess of Cambridge.
Meghan is particularly fond of the label’s £490 Deneve heels - 4 inch stilettos pumps with cutouts around the heel and an upward bow at the back - which she’s worn on multiple occasions, including her trips to Australia and Fiji.
Aquazzura also made an appearance at Meghan’s engagement announcement at Kensington Palace when she wore a nude pair of pumps with criss-cross detailing.
While Aquazzura comes at quite a hefty price tag, we’ve found some cheaper alternatives so you can still give your wardrobe the royal makeover.
