Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Turned Their Surprise Red Carpet Appearance Into a Date Night
They attended the Jamaican premiere of 'Bob Marley: One Love.'
It's not everyday that we get a red carpet appearance from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. After moving to Montecito, Calif., Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have kept their public outings to a minimum (despite consistently being in the headlines), save for the occasional Beyoncé concert, mental health panel, and Variety red carpet. However, on Tuesday, the duke and duchess made a surprise red carpet showing at the premiere of the upcoming biopic Bob Marley: One Love in Kingston, Jamaica, perhaps a sign that the couple is dipping their toe back into the metaphorical Hollywood pool.
For the event, Markle looked regal in a black gown that featured a cotton top, an empire waist, and full, floor-skimming taffeta skirt. The Suits star accessorized with gold medallion earrings and a collection of rings, and her hair was slicked back into sleek, low bun. For glam, the royal opted for fringed lashes, bronzed contour, rosy cheeks, and a mauve lip.
For Harry's part, the prince wore a navy blue suit and white button-up, forgoing a tie altogether, instead leaving his shirt open at the top to reveal his black necklace (which he explained the meaning of during an episode The Late Show With Stephen Colbert).
While on the carpet, the husband-and-wife duo posed alongside the prime minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness and his wife Juliet Holness, as well as Olivia Grange, a member of Jamaica's House of Representatives.
Additionally, the duo took photos with Brian Robbins and his wife Tracy James, and in a video shared to X, Harry can also be seen meeting and hugging Bob Marley's son, Ziggy Marley, a producer on the film.
The movie, which hits theaters on Feb. 14, stars Barbie's Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and Lashana Lynch as Marley's wife Rita and follows the life and immensely successful career of the reggae icon.
Although things have been quiet for the duke and duchess, there have been rumblings of their return to Hollywood. In fact last year, their production company, Archewell Productions, acquired the rights to the popular romance novel Meet Me At the Lake alongside Netflix.
