In celebration of their first wedding anniversary, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have shared a series of never-before-seen photos of their big day last year.

The new parents - who welcomed baby son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor almost two weeks ago - marked twelve months since they tied the knot with a sweet Instagram post.

Unseen images they have released include the Duke of Sussex preparing to head to St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle with his brother Prince William, the Duchess of Sussex being walked down the aisle by Prince Charles as well as holding hands with Doria Ragland, and the newlyweds kissing in front of the waving crowds.

A video collage begins with the couple’s logo above italicised white font on a black background, which reads: “One year ago today...”

The stunning wedding photos that proceed to flash up in the minute-long montage are mostly in black and white, with the exception of the final three pics which were taken once Meghan and Harry had left the church.

Many of the pictures have not been shared publicly by the couple before - including one of the Duke pretending to flag down the car that was to take him to the service and and the Duchess being assisted with the long train of her wedding dress designed by Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller.

Ending the short clip, were the words: “Thank you for making the memory of this day so special.”

The video was captioned: “Happy one year anniversary to Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex!

“Today marks the one year anniversary of the wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“Their Royal Highnesses exchanged vows at St George’s Chapel within the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 19th, 2018.”

It continued: “The selected song ‘This Little Light of Mine’ was chosen by the couple for their recessional.

“We hope you enjoy reliving this moment, and seeing some behind the scenes photos from this special day.”

The post - shared with their 8.1m followers - finished with a message from Meghan and Harry: “Thank you for all of the love and support from so many of you around the world.

“Each of you made this day even more meaningful.”

It was well-received by royal fans who have rushed to comment on the post marking the important day in the couple’s life.

They rushed to congratulate the couple, who are “so in love”, and wish them a “happy first anniversary”.

Many also pointed out that the day has been made even more special by the arrival earlier this month of their little boy.

It comes a day after Harry attended Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding - in the same place he married almost a year before - without Meghan.

Earlier this week, the Duke and Duchess released Archie’s birth certificate, which revealed he was born in a hospital, despite a reported desire for a home birth.
