The Sussexes shared their official 2020 Christmas card with fans on Wednesday.

The festive portrait, which was released via one of Meghan's patronages, Mayhew, on social media, features an illustrated scene of the family of three at their new home in Montecito, California. The artwork features Harry, Meghan and their son Archie playing together outside, joined by their two beloved dogs, Guy and Pula. The couple do not currently have an official social media account of their own.

The original photo was taken at home earlier this month by Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, a spokesperson for the Sussexes revealed to Bazaar.com. "The small Christmas tree, including the homemade ornaments and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays,” the rep added.

In addition to sharing their their 2020 Christmas card, the couple also made a personal donation to Mayhew, an animal-focused charity based in the UK, as well as to the Henry Van Straubenzee Memorial Fund and Transition House. Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, are both patrons of the Henry Van Straubenzee Memorial Fund which works to fight poverty in Uganda through education, and was created in honour of Harry's late friend. Transition House is a Montecito based non-profit that helps local families transition out of homelessness through various programs and life tools.

Meghan wrote in their family card: "This year we, as a family, have made donations to several charities with you in mind. From a local California organisation that helps families transition out of homelessness, to two of our UK patronages: one that supports animal and community welfare, and the other, a memorial fund for a cherished friend that helps to educate children and fight poverty in Uganda, we have honoured their work on behalf of all of us.”

Mayhew's CEO Caroline Yates also expressed her gratitude toward the Sussexes and their generous donation to the organisation.

"We are delighted to have the Duchess of Sussex as our Patron, and she has shone a huge light on our community-based animal welfare work over the last two years," said Yates in a statement to Bazaar. "We were especially honoured to recently receive a personal donation from the duke and duchess, which will enable us to help even more cats, dogs and pet owners in need over this tough winter period."

The Sussexes' festive portrait follows the release of other Christmas cards shared by members of the royal family, including one from William, Kate and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis; as well as a floral greeting from Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla.
