The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been featured on Time magazine’s prestigious 100 Most Influential People list this year.

Time released its special cover with Prince Harry and Meghan today (15 Sept), showing the couple dressed smartly in co-ordinating monochrome outfits, with Harry all in black and Meghan in a white shirt and trousers, posing in front of a calming woodland scene - presumably shot in California near their Montecito home. It marks Meghan and Harry's first magazine cover together.

"They turn compassion into boots on the ground through their Archewell Foundation. They give voice to the voiceless through media production," chef José Andrés wrote in a short essay about the pair, which features inside the issue. "Hand in hand with nonprofit partners, they take risks to help communities in need — offering mental-health support to Black women and girls in the US and feeding those affected by natural disasters in India and the Caribbean."

Andrés partnered with the Sussexes at the end of last year to build community centres with World Central Kitchen.

He added: "In a world where everyone has an opinion about people they don’t know, the duke and duchess have compassion for the people they don’t know. They don’t just opine. They run toward the struggle."

Time shared another image of Prince Harry and Meghan, showing the pair walking hand-in-hand through the trees, both smiling and dressed in different shades of green.

The Sussexes, who stepped down as senior royals at the beginning of 2020, are joined on the list by other notable names like singers Dolly Parton and Britney Spears, actress Kate Winslet, Russian lawyer Alexei Navalny, and tennis player Naomi Osaka.
