It's been well established now that the Meghan Effect is very real: every item of clothing the new duchess wears is identified, analysed and promptly sells out. Which is why it's rare that something the royal has worn is not only still available to buy but actually made it into the sale.

Back in April, a month before the former actress officially joined the royal family, Meghan joined Prince Harry at a reception with representatives from the Commonwealth Youth Forum in London. For the occasion she wore the perfect spring dress in the form of a striped Altuzarra design.

She paired her belted dress with a Camilla & Marc blazer draped over her shoulders, an Oroton crossbody bag and strappy Tamara Mellon heels.

The pinstripe dress from New York-based label Altuzarra - one of Meghan's favourite brands - is named the Audrey, possibly inspired by Audrey Hepburn. The late actress is proving to be something of a style icon for Meghan; her Ascot outfit seemed to pay tribute to My Fair Lady, while both women also had close relationships with the house of Givenchy, notably both wearing dresses by the fashion house on their wedding days.

The Altuzarra Audrey dress is now 40% off in the sale at Net-a-Porter.
