There’s a branch of the Folie Douce chain on the mountain and one of the oldest jazz clubs in France, outside of Paris, in the resort but in Megève, après is generally a pretty muted affair.

The Cocoon Club

Established for more than 25 years, the Cocoon Club has several different seating areas where you can tuck yourself away amid its mainly wooden decor. There’s live music and DJs, a small dance floor and it is open till 3am weekdays and 5am weekends. It’s very popular with locals and visitors alike.

La Folie Douce

This well-known chain opened its latest Folie Douce here for the 2014/15 season at the top of Mont Joux. It’s the place to be for outdoor music, dancing and cabaret from 2.30pm until shortly before the lifts close.

Club de Jazz les Cinq Rues

A great place for an after dinner cocktail, Les Cinq Rues (00 33 4 50 89 65 68) is one of the oldest jazz clubs in France outside Paris, having opened just after the Second World War. Top musicians from all over the world play here in the cellar-like ambience.
