Meet Pisces, the Zodiac's sensitive creative: The sign's personality traits, dates

Pisces is the Zodiac's final sign, ruling the last days of February and a majority of March. Symbolized by the fish, Pisces is a water sign.

Those born under Pisces are known for their acute sensitivity and creative gifts. They often see the world through rose-colored glasses, focusing on the good and tuning out the darkness. Pisces can easily read others' emotions, despite being ruled by their own.

Astrologer Kesaine Walker explores the sign's key traits, plus its approach to relationships, career and more.

Pisces dates

Pisces season runs from Feb. 19 to March 20.

Pisces personality, traits

Pisces are characterized by their creativity and imagination, Walker says. They are also compassionate and loving individuals.

A Pisces' emotional sensitivity is high, and they are often in tune with others' feelings. This, however, can leaving them vulnerable to criticism. Pisces worry a lot about how their actions affect others.

Pisces also do not like to be pushed into doing things.

"When Pisces finally decide to make their move, they're prepared to give everything they have and work tirelessly until the task is complete," Walker said.

Pisces thrive on spontaneity and love to go with the flow, she adds. Their intuition also helps them guide others effortlessly.

Pisces occasionally put their needs on the back burner to make sure others are happy, Walker says.

Pisces career horoscope

Any career that demands innovation is a great fit for Pisces, Walker says. Adviser and therapist roles are ideal jobs since Pisces are emotionally intelligent listeners.

Being a Pisces means being a people-person with a deep-seated desire to help, making careers in medicine or spirituality a perfect fit.

Pisces compatibility

Pisces are often seen as the most sensitive sign of the Zodiac, Walker says. She describes them as compassionate and caring; willing to put others first.

In relationships, they crave love and adoration from a partner. Pisces tend to fully dedicate themselves to a significant other early on.

"When Pisces falls in love, they fall hard," Walker said. This, however, can sometimes come across as being too forward.

Pisces is compatible with the other water signs: Scorpio and Cancer. But they also pair well with earth signs: Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.

Strengths

Walker says a Pisces' key strengths are its understanding nature and belief in the world's good.

"Pisces is the most gentle of all the signs," she said. "These sensitive souls trust that kindness will prevail, even in the face of darkness and hardship."

Since Pisces is ruled by Neptune (the planet is associated with dreams and spirituality), the water sign is very intuitive.

Walker adds that Pisces make excellent friends. "They see everyone as equal and believe everyone deserves kindness and respect regardless of their circumstances," she explains.

Weaknesses

Pisces can be particularly sensitive to criticism, Walker says. This sometimes leads to people-pleasing tendencies in order to win others' approval.

"They can also be self-deprecating, which can cause them to underestimate their worth," Walker said. "It may take a lot of work from their friends and family members to convince them they deserve respect and care."
