Meet Beauty Pie: The new make-up brand that will save you some serious money

Ever bought a whole new set of make-up and gulped at the cost? Well, you’re not alone.

With high-end brands charging £40 for a foundation and two figures for anything from lipsticks to eyeshadows, it’s easy to blow your entire pay cheque on a couple of products.

That’s about to change with new brand, Beauty Pie. Set up by Marcia Kilgore – the woman behind much-loved brands including Soap & Glory and Bliss Spa – Beauty Pie is an entirely online service that is getting rid of the heavy mark-ups, turning a £20 lipstick into a £2 one.

Each product is sourced directly from the factories that provide luxury brands with their make-up meaning you get the same formula for a fraction of the price. The current range offers foundations, popping highlighters, lightweight primers and a variety of lipsticks and mascaras.

As it’s a subscription service, you have to pay £10 a month (which is a minimal cost when you consider the savings). The company also gives full disclosure on the cost of ingredients and packaging so you can see exactly what you’re paying for.

There is currently a limited number of shades for sale but Beauty Pie is set to grow over the next few months and will introduce a skincare line as well as brushes and other beauty tools.

Their main aim is to create the lipsticks and eyeshadows that appear on the red carpet within six to eight weeks meaning you can recreate celebrity looks and still have change for a coffee.
