McDonald's is ready to get into the holiday spirit.

Starting this Friday, November 15, the fast food chain is bringing back its highly beloved holiday pie, each crafted with the brand's signature buttery pie crust and filled with creamy custard, then glazed with sugar, and topped with rainbow sprinkles for an extra dash of joy. As McDonald's shared on its website, the pies each have 260 calories, can be ordered through the McDonald's app at participating restaurants, and, importantly, are "the greatest gift to yourself."

As Reader's Digest reported, the pie made its debut in 1999, which, somehow, is 25 years ago. And ever since, it's been a true marker of the start of the holiday season for McDonald's fans.

However, here's the downside: Like every year, this year's pie will only be available for a limited time. And it will only be available in select cities, including Seattle, Los Angeles, St. Louis, New York City, Cleveland, Memphis, and Dallas, People reported.

And though its official launch isn't until Friday, Instagrammer Markie Devo reported sightings have already started popping up around the nation — including places not listed as the official cities (he noted they've been seen in Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania). Devo's followers also noted they'd seen the pies in Northern Virginia and Los Angeles, too.

And, if the comments are any indication, these pies will likely sell out fast. "I’m wondering if they freeze well. I need to stock my freezer," one commenter who plans to stock up noted. "I had these while I was working in Nebraska twelve years ago, and I still miss them," another forlorn fan added. "There are 2 times a year I go to McD’s — Shamrock Shake and Holiday Pie," one more noted, giving us at least one good reason to look forward to spring as well.

According to Reader's Digest, the pies were previously priced at $1.19, so hopefully, they'll stay a cheap thrill this year as well. Typically, customers see these pies disappear off menus by December 31, so make sure to snag yours before the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve.
