Dog lovers, rejoice: George – a private members’ club in Mayfair named after its founder Mark Birley’s beloved pup – is launching its very own dog committee. The adorable new initiative follows in the paw-steps of the club’s already canine-friendly offering, and will encompass everything from bespoke dog beds and bowls to curated (and very meaty) menus.

The first event comes courtesy of Instagram sensation, luxury florist and Wild at Heart founder Nikki Tibbles, who, later this month, will hold a talk in support of her animal-welfare foundation, which is dedicated to putting an end to reducing the world’s 600 million stray-dog population.

Other members of the committee include the models David Gandy and Yasmin Le Bon, the fashion and fitness guru Lily Fortescue, and Fiona Leahy, event planner to the stars. All will be actively supporting the club’s canines throughout the year at a range of fund-raising events, which may include designer collaborations and games for four-legged friends.

The luxury dog-food brand Rockster will be serving 100 per cent certified biodegradable, human-grade and life-enhancing superfoods to all visiting pups. Highlights include the Fisherman’s Dream, made with bio-organic salmon and the finest calamari and mussels, along with a top-notch Sunday roast in a can, made to a unique recipe consisting of grass-fed lamb, duck à la Royale and bio-organic duck… only the best in Mayfair.

The club’s membership director Astrid Harbord said: “We value our dog visitors as much as our members, and this initiative means we can upscale the offering for them, while fundraising for incredibly worthwhile causes.”

The George Committee launches on 26 February.
