TV presenter Alexis Conran said following this one crucial tip is the key to making the 'perfect' Yorkshire pudding in your air fryer.

The actor, who was crowned winner of Celebrity MasterChef in 2016, shared a recipe for the roast dinner staple on his Channel 5 show Air Fryers: Sunday Lunch Made Easy and fans were quick to try it out.

Speaking to actress Amanda Lamb on the show, Alexis said: "What better accompaniment to any roast dinner than a glorious Yorkshire pudding."

After A Place in the Sun host Amanda admitted she had attempted to make her own Yorkshire puddings once and said they turned out like hockey pucks, Alexis promises that his Yorkshire puddings would make her roast one to remember.

He said: "So we're going to use a really simple recipe and make one big one which we can then tear up and everyone gets a bit on their plate."

Switching his air fryer to 200c, Alexis said it should be set at the highest temperature it can go.

He then cracks an egg in a mixing cup before pouring it into a bowl and adding plain flour to the same cup, followed by the milk. Host Alexis said it is very important to do it in that order. So the egg, flour and then lastly the milk. This is because the milk cleans the flour from the bowl and removes any leftovers.

Whilst mixing his ingredients, he then told viewers to add salt before opening his 'very hot' air fryer drawer. Alexis then sprays his preheated baking dish with oil before pouring in his batter.

Sharing his Yorkshire pud secrets after closing the air fryer drawer, Alexis tells Amanda the key to the perfect pudding is to not open the drawer until it is ready.

He added: "You will not open this drawers for at least 18 minutes."

After a patient wait, the pair open the air fryer drawer and reveal a perfectly formed, crispy, golden Yorkshire pudding. Clearly excited by what they have made, Amanda says 'wowsers', before tucking in to their homemade pud.

Alexis added: "Yorkshire puddings are notoriously difficult for people to get right. Here we did virtually no measuring and just shoved it in an air fryer."
