The Masked Singer US renewed for season 5

The Masked Singer US spoilers follow.

Ahead of The Masked Singer US's season four finale, the hit competition series has been renewed for a fifth outing in 2021.

Yep, in news that doesn't come as a surprise at all, Fox has given the greenlight for another season of the hit show, promising more outlandish costumes and guesses as to who is behind each mask.

"I'm so happy to announce a new season of The Masked Singer," Rob Wade, President of Alternative Entertainment and Specials at Fox Entertainment, said (via TVLine).

"This show brings joy to so many families across the country, especially during these trying times, and we can't wait to get even more celebrities suited up in crazy costumes for an hour of pure fun every week."

The season four semi-final took place last night (December 2), with contestants Seahorse, Popcorn and Jellyfish all unmasked as Tori Kelly, Taylor Dayne and snowboarder Chloe Kim.

Meanwhile, it was revealed this week when the show will return on our side of the pond.

The UK version will be back on screens for season two on December 26 at 7pm.

The Masked Singer UK has also revealed all its costumes for the second series, with characters including Blob, Grandfather Clock and Sausage. Get your guesses in now!

On top of that, there's a new teaser which includes new judge Mo Gilligan just realising what has signed-up for, which you can check out above.

The Masked Singer US continues next Wednesday (December 9) at 8pm on Fox. The Masked Singer UK season 2 will premiere on December 26 at 7pm on ITV.
