Martha Stewart is headed back to the garden!

The lifestyle guru and author, 83, announced on Thursday, Jan. 23 that her latest book — Martha Stewart’s Gardening Handbook: The Essential Guide to Designing, Planting, and Growing — will be arriving on shelves on March 18.

The release marks Stewart's first gardening book in decades, according to a news release shared with PEOPLE, and covers everything from basics to general maintenance.

"I’m so excited to share the image of the cover of my next book, Martha Stewart’s Gardening Handbook, coming from @harvestbooks in March," Stewart wrote in an Instagram announcement. "If you are a green thumb or a novice, this guide contains everything you need to make and grow a beautiful, thriving garden."

The book is filled with "practical tips and detailed explanations" for those looking to get more into the craft, covering everything from flowers to succulents to trees.

The book will feature Stewart's takes on basics like planting techniques and soil tests, her emphasis on "thoughtful planning" for garden goals, sustainability tips for composting, making "organic fertilizers" and growing produce, insight into specialty gardens and even some "practical advice on controlling weeds, preventing disease, pruning and winterizing," according to the release.

Stewart's latest book comes decades after the release of her first-ever gardening book, 1991's Martha Stewart's Gardening, per her website. Since then, she and Martha Stewart Living editors have shared Gardening from Seed in 1999, with Gardening 101 coming out a year later.

Her forthcoming project marks her 101st book since her debut with 1982's Entertaining. Over the course of 40+ years in the field, Stewart has penned books on decorating, cooking, crafts and beyond.

Stewart has also teased an even more personal project in recent months, telling Jimmy Fallon that the book will be "even more revealing" than R.J. Cutler’s Netflix documentary Martha. “Watch out. You don’t know what I’ll say about you," she joked while appearing on The Tonight Show in November.

"I call it an autobiography. It’s not exactly a memoir," she told Today of the project, which she said would be published by Random House in two years. "It’s a fun book and all the wonderful, wonderful things I’ve done in my life and all the stories."

Gardening Handbook will arrive on March 18 via Harvest and is now available to preorder, wherever books are sold.
