Mariah Carey Stops Everyone in Their Tracks in an Ultra Mini Sequined Dress

"Bow to the Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey!!!," was how one person responded when a photo of the singer on Jimmy Kimmel Live was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) — and we have to agree with the sentiment. Although Mariah Carey's musical accomplishments far surpass the holiday season, her version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is always the song of the season. But that isn't the only reason folks are talking about the "Songbird Supreme." Her recent outfits have been giving the fans plenty to talk about as well.

The R&B and pop singer attended the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on November 3 in an ensemble that perfectly captured the glitz and glitter that comes with the impending holiday season. The 54-year-old wore a black and gold sequined Balmain strapless mini dress with gold trim and black and gold buttons along with a cropped long-sleeved black jacket drapped over her shoulders. She wore oversized black Gucci sunglasses, gold and silver platform open-toed heels, a simple diamond necklace and multiple diamond bracelets on each wrist. Her trademark long locks were left down, and and her makeup was subtle with a champagne eyeshadow and glossy pink lip.

Of course, it wasn't long before fans of the five-time Grammy winner saw photos of her dress and couldn't hold back.

"Mariah looks STUNNING!!," someone wrote on a picture shared by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Twitter. "A whole GODDESS I literally cannot handle it 😍😍," another chimed in. "OMG LOOK AT HER!!!," a different person tweeted. Another fan said, "The only human in history that does not age. She has looked that incredible for three decades now."

And what is even more exciting, other than the numerous blinged-out outfits we can expect to see her in over the next two months, was her confirmation a few days later on Good Morning America that she is working on new music.

"There is new music on the horizon," she said during the November 6 interview. "I've been working the past three, four weeks on just writing new songs... Yesterday we were in the studio working on something with a choir, working on a new song."

On November 15, the "Always Be My Baby" singer kicks off her second Merry Christmas One and All! Tour in Highland California. She'll be going across the country for 13 performances that are "exclusive Christmas concerts", according to the press release, hitting cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto and Philadelphia. It will wrap in New York City at Madison Square Garden on December 17.
