Mariah Carey just announced it's officially Christmas in the most Mariah Carey way possible
Halloween was fun but a new month means a new event to prepare for, and although technically Christmas is still seven weeks away, the Queen of Christmas has officially announced it's time to get excited about the festive season.
Yep, Mariah Carey herself took to Instagram last night (at midnight to be precise) to say farewell to spooky season. Sharing a surprise short film with her 10.2 million Instagram followers, the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" singer wears a sparkly, red Santa get-up as she smashes pumpkins and spreads Christmas cheer.
She captioned the post: "Ready? Let’s go! 🎃➡️🎄."
Understandably, the video practically broke the internet, and has already racked up over a million likes. As well as giving the post a double tap, fans headed straight to the comments section to share their appreciation for the return of Mariah. "It has been declared! 🎄" said one Instagram user, with another adding "Mariah understood the assignment," and a third fan commenting "You own this holiday."
Plenty of celebrities got in on the action too, with Blake Lively commenting "Genius," and Kris Jenner adding "Obsessed!"
As we all know, Mariah spends much of the year in hibernation, defrosting around mid-October, just in time for a jam-packed December which sees her 1994 hit song played approximately 943645 times per minute. We're not complaining tbh.
Now all we need is a mince pie, a pair of fluffy socks and for the John Lewis advert to make it's appearance...
