Margot Robbie and Scarlett Johansson twin in super glam monochrome looks
With Cannes Film Festival, the Met Gala and the Tony Awards all taking place in the last few weeks, we've been truly spoilt for choice when it comes to red carpet fashion. And while we'll admit we have been totally loving all the epic naked dresses and lingerie-inspired looks that have dominated of late (Elle Fanning, Irina Shayk and Ashley Graham, we're looking at you!), there is something to be said for those celebs who have side-stepped the trend altogether – and opted instead for a more classic aesthetic.
Enter, the acting icons that are Scarlett Johansson and Margot Robbie, who channeled old Hollywood glamour to attend the NYC premiere of The Asteroid.
Both Scarlett and Margot star in the new Wes Anderson film that hits cinemas later this month (23 June, to be exact), and stunned in matching, classy AF monochromatic looks for last night's premiere.
Now, let's break the looks down one by one. First up: Scarlett Johansson, who looked *so* incredibly chic in a white gown by Carolina Herrera, featuring a halter strap, ruched longline bodice and a very on-trend flower corsage on the chest. It's giving bridal mermaid with a hint of Carrie Bradshaw – which is a seriously fab combination, we have to say.
To let the dress do the talking, Scarlett kept accessories to a minimal, completing her look with sparkly Gianvito Rossi heels (that we've found online, btw – run don't walk!), a few cocktail rings and pearl-and-diamond drop earrings.
And as for Margot, we couldn't be more delighted that she seems to have *finally* escaped the clutches of Chanel, and is experimenting with her red carpet style a lil more. Her beaut black-and-white look is from the Schiaparelli SS23 Couture show, and features a structured black velvet corset with a cute keyhole detail and a contrasting pleated white mini-skirt beneath. We are truly obsessed.
Margot's stylist, Andrew Mukamal, finished off the look with a stunning diamond necklace and ring by Taffin, and a classic red mani. Aaaaand if you look *very* closely, you'll notice that Scarlett has a matching ring and nails too. More twinning moments like these please, ladies! We love to see it.
