Marc Jacobs and Pat McGrath Collaborated on Your New Must-Have Red Lipstick
Most brands might celebrate their milestones with an intimate dinner, perhaps a VIP party or some type of special campaign. But since when has Marc Jacobs ever been like most brands?
Just a few weeks after presenting its Fall 2024 collection and unveiling its celebrity-studded 40th anniversary campaign, the brand is celebrating four decades in fashion with a collaboration with Pat McGrath Labs, releasing a limited-edition red lipstick.
Titled "Forbidden Love," the lipstick is "infused with the spirit of their friendship," (as the press notes state) and is a limited edition shade of Pat McGrath Labs' beloved MatteTrance Lipstick formula.
"Cheers to my cherished friend Marc for 40 major years of trailblazing style," makeup artist Pat McGrath said via a press release announcing the collaboration. "I wanted to honor him with a special version of my groundbreaking MatteTrance Lipstick. It delivers the ultimate matte finish with major hydration. It's the perfect balance between lasting wear and comfort that our fans crave."
The true red lip color comes in a special black-and-white tube engraved with a riff on the Marc Jacobs logo. Fans of Marc Jacobs' own beauty line may be eagerly anticipating the return of its color cosmetics range, but in the mean time, this Marc-approved lip color offering is an enticing place holder.
Retailing at $39, MatteTrance Lipstick Marc Jacobs Edition is now available to shop online at patmcgrath.com and will also be sold via marcjacobs.com.
