How many bank holidays are there in 2025?
For those living in England and Wales, there are eight bank holidays in 2025.
The next two are the Easter bank holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday, followed by the Early May Bank Holiday and the Spring Bank Holiday.
Every year the month of May has two bank holidays – one at the beginning and another falling towards the end.
The Summer Bank Holiday falls three months later in August, then the remaining two are in December, with Wednesday 25th December (Christmas Day) and Thursday 26th December (Boxing Day) as the final ones of the year.

What are the weekend rules for bank holidays in the UK?
If a bank holiday – such as Christmas Day or Boxing Day – falls on a weekend, a 'substitute' weekday becomes the day off, normally the following Monday.
How to get 65 days off in 2025
Easter
Book four days off from April 14–17, and another four days off from April 22–25. This will give you 16 consecutive days off, including Good Friday (April 18) and Easter Monday (April 21).
May
If you book four days off from May 6–9, you'll get nine days off, including the bank holiday in May.
Summer
Book eight days off from August 26–29 for nine days off.
December
If you book six days off from December 22–24, and another three days off from December 29–31, this will give you 13 consecutive days off for the festive period.
New Year
Book two days off after the New Year bank holiday on January 1. This will give you five consecutive days off.
