New research shows that more than nine out of 10 potential UK visitors are keen to visit film and TV locations in the UK during their holiday – a growing trend known as set-jetting.

To encourage more travellers to set foot on our own shores VisitBritain has released a four-minute film inspired by 15 of the biggest film and TV shows to ever have been filmed here. From Bridget Jones to Spider-Man, Succession, Paddington, House Of The Dragon and Harry Potter, Starring GREAT Britain takes viewers on a jaw-dropping cinematic journey through some of our most iconic places. Watch the video below:

Created by Academy Award-winning British director Tom Hooper, the film will be shown in Australia, France, Germany and the USA in places such as Berlin’s famous Kurfürstendamm and the Gare du Nord Station in Paris.

Tourism Minister Sir Chris Bryant says: “Many of the moments that took your breath away in the cinema were filmed in the United Kingdom. Stunning scenery, amazing cityscapes and great cinematic talent have combined over the years in a truly exceptional way. We want visitors from home and abroad to experience them first-hand by immersing themselves in the scenery and locations made famous thanks to film and TV. Our tourism industry is already worth £74billion to the economy and this campaign will help drive more growth by encouraging millions of tourists to visit even more parts of our breathtaking country.”

You can discover where all these places are and more on an interactive map of film-inspired locations, attractions and experiences created with the help of VisitEngland, VisitScotland, VisitWales and London & Partners. There are also expert curated itineraries themed around film genres including romance, fantasy, action and adventure.
