Mango's sell-out coat that could be designer is back
If there's one high-street coat that's truly earned 'hero' status in recent years, it's got to be Mango's viral faux-fur jacket.
When it launched back in 2022, it won spots on the Instagram grids of all our favourite fashion influencers and became a sell-out hit. It returned last year and promptly flew off the rails again, and now it's back for 2024. Needless to say, it's not going to hang around this time either, so if you regretted missing out before, then do what I'll be doing and hotfoot it over to Mango sharpish.
Even more excitingly, for the new season the Fur-Effect Coat with Appliqués now not only comes in the original 'ecru' colour that'll go with everything in your wardrobe, but also a rich 'khaki' shade with chocolate-brown undertones.
The popularity of this piece is hardly surprising; the £120 teddy coat with its chic round neck and contrasting faux-leather detailing reminds us of Swedish designer Totême's cult shearling jacket with a four-figure price tag.
Predictably as the weather starts to turn, faux-fur coats are popping up on the high street, with our favourite styles still slightly oversized for throwing over and easily elevating denim and athleisurewear. Marks & Spencer's buckled borg coat is also back and deserving of a mention – note those Totême-esque toggles...
Of course, if budget allows, it's impossible to beat the Totême OG – the fashion equivalent of the cosiest bear hug...
