  • Logan Moffitt has loved cucumbers since he was a kid. Growing up he used to bring whole cucumbers in his lunchbox.

  • The Ottawa, Canada, local started sharing his cucumber recipe videos on TikTok in 2021, which have since gone viral. He now has 4.3 million followers.

  • Two of his most popular videos include him eating cucumbers on a jet ski and making a cucumber salad while treading water.

  • Now, the 23-year-old wants to experiment with new flavors and cucumber recipes.

Logan Moffitt's favorite type of cucumber is English, although he also enjoys Persian and Korean-style ones. (Yes, he can tell the difference between them.)

The Ottawa, Canada, local, who goes by @logagm on TikTok, has been obsessed with cucumbers since childhood. He recalls that if a meal seemed to lack vegetables, he would add cucumbers. In high school, he would regularly bring whole cucumbers in his lunchbox because he didn’t have the energy to cut them. He'd garnish them with salt and pepper from a plastic bag he packed.

While Moffitt's love for the crunchy vegetable is long standing, sharing his passion on social media is new. Since he began posting about cucumbers on TikTok in 2021 — specifically his creative cucumber salad recipes — he has garnered over 4.3 million followers. But he says this is just the beginning.

"Cucumbers are a lifestyle," Moffitt, 23, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I hope I can get as many people into cucumbers as possible because they're really good for you, they taste great and make for a healthy snack."

When asked about his second favorite vegetable, he settles on an onion. "Oh, I was going to say cherry tomatoes, but that's fruit, right?"

Most of Moffitt's cucumber salad recipes are his own creations. Each recipe takes about 10 minutes to make, and he often uses ingredients that are already on hand for many of the simpler ones. Among his favorite recipes is his avocado salmon cream cheese bagel cucumber salad. Every time he eats it, he thinks to himself, "Damn, that's good."

He often finds inspiration for new recipes as he scrolls through TikTok, watching other food videos. So far, nothing Moffitt has made has disappointed him. He’s realized that "everything can go on cucumber."

"So, I usually turn other foods into cucumber salads," he explains. "For example, I made an avocado bagel into a cucumber salad. Today, I made a jalapeño popper cucumber salad. It’s about transforming random foods into cucumber salads."

Moffitt also gets recipe ideas from comments on his posts. One idea he's excited to try is Mexican street corn-inspired cucumbers.

When Moffitt started his first video on TikTok in his "Sometimes You Have to Eat an Entire Cucumber" format, he did it just for fun. When he noticed people liked it, he decided to post a few more videos in the same format. From there, he saw it just continued to grow.

Two of his most popular videos include him eating cucumbers on a jet ski and making a cucumber salad while treading water.

"'Sometimes You Have to Eat an Entire Cucumber' became a hit, and I just went with it," he adds. "The comments are usually really funny. There’s this one video where a guy jokes that I’m not just 'cucumber guy,' but also 'kimchi guy' and 'cold noodle guy' who happens to be cucumber guy. I love reading all the funny jokes viewers make."

Before starting the series, Moffitt says he ate cucumbers often, but now, due to the increased interest from his followers, he's eating at least two a day.

"I used to buy three to six cucumbers at a time, but now I've upped the number. I posted a video the other day of a grocery haul where I bought 15 cucumbers," he says. "Thankfully, I do Instacart orders, so I don't have to interact with anyone while buying 15 cucumbers. That's a win."

Now as he continues to explore new recipes and share them with his fans, he's interested in experimenting with a whole new flavor category with the vegetable.

"I've been thinking about trying dessert cucumbers," he says. "The first one I want to try is peanut butter and jelly. I sampled it on a slice of cucumber, and it was good. So, I plan to make an entire cucumber salad like that."
