Pasta is everyone’s favourite go-to meal. Whether it be a spag bol or mac ‘n’ cheese, after years of practise we’re pretty sure we’ve got the pasta making process down. You can’t really go wrong, or can you?

Twitter user Daibella was recently left open-mouthed after discovering a post on Facebook, which showed that we’ve been making pasta all wrong. Or more precisely, straining it incorrectly. After all, putting fusilli into a pan of boiling hot water isn’t rocket science.

While many of us struggle to lift up a heavy pan in order to unsafely pour the boiling hot water out of the pan and into a sieve or colander, the images displayed an entirely new and easier way of draining water, by simply placing the colander on top of the pan and tipping it sideways.

The cooking hack has shook the internet after being posted on Twitter, and has gone viral, gaining over 73,000 likes with many stating that their minds have been blown.

While others have been a little more pessimistic, saying that the method is more prone to slip ups.

One thing’s for sure, we’re all going to be testing out the method to see for ourselves.
