MAFS star engaged after five years with partner after promising 'kids will happen'
Married At First Sight star Cathy Evans has revealed that she is engaged to partner Richard after five years together. The reality star, 30, appeared on MAFS Australia back in 2020, and met Richard shortly after filming the hit dating show.
Announcing the exciting news in an Instagram Story on Sunday, Cathy shared a photo of the newly-engaged couple with the caption: "First pic together as an engaged couple where I'm not sobbing." Fans were quick to share messages of congratulations for Cathy and Richard, who showed off the impressive diamond engagement ring in a video.
"Thank you for all the messages guys," she wrote over the clip, which featured the massive oval cut diamond ring set in gold. "We are in the biggest love bubble [right now] and our friends just arrived on our trip so will be on and off socials. More to come later my loves."

The New Zealand-born star began dating police officer Richard in August 2020, however has stated that the couple have been together for five years. Speaking about Richard in 2020, Cathy told NW magazine: "I think I fell in love with every aspect of Ritchie's being – he is so supportive and believes in me, and that makes me so excited.
"We see a future together and are already thinking about what suburb we would buy or build a house in. And kids will happen. No dates yet, but stand by!"
During her time on MAFS Australia, Cathy was paired with truck driver Josh Pihlak, with the pair honeymooning in Daylesford, Victoria. However, the pair chose to split up and leave the experiment in its penultimate week.
Since moving on with Richard, Cathy has tried to keep their relationship as private as possible by sharing few photos of her man on social media. Explaining why she chose to keep him out of the limelight, Cathy wrote on Instagram: "It's a special day today. My boyfriend's birthday and I don't share him on Insta purely because I like to keep my love life private.
"'People wanna ruin a good thing and I don't want that for us. Plus he's a private man and I respect his wishes. But for once, I'll post of us. I love you so much."
Last year, E4 aired the latest series of MAFS UK, with 22 singletons hoping to find love through the experiment. While five couples made it to the final week, only two chose to stay together in the final episode - before breaking up off-screen. Lacey and Nathan reportedly split back in November, leaving fans devastated.
Meanwhile, Ross and Sacha broke up after a tumultuous post-show relationship, with Sacha claiming in an exclusive chat with OK! that Ross "threw a kebab at the wall" during filming and called her a "little f**king sket" in a text to a co-star.
