Married at First Sight (MAFS) Australia's 12th season has just kicked off down under, and UK fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival on our screens. The reality TV sensation, which sees love-seeking singles 'marry' a total stranger, has become a global phenomenon.

Sadly, most couples on the show don't make it to the final vows at the end of the season, getting knocked out during a series of commitment ceremonies where they must decide to stay or go. And even fewer MAFS couples who stick it out till the end manage to take their relationship into the real world.

The weddings on the show aren't legally binding, so contestants can exit whenever they like. But there have been a handful of success stories from the show, with some couples going on to tie the knot for real, or popping the question post-show.

Here are the MAFS Australia couples who made a genuine commitment.

1. Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven from season 8

Melissa and Bryce were paired up back in season 8, which aired in 2020. But their journey on the show was far from plain sailing. Viewers slammed Bryce for his 'toxic' behaviour after it emerged he had a girlfriend whom he dumped just weeks before the show.

Bryce quickly became one of the series' villains, frequently butting heads with other cast members who challenged the couple over their rocky relationship. But Melissa and Bryce have truly turned their reality TV romance into a real-life fairy tale.

After tying the knot in 2023, Bryce shared an adorable photo on Instagram to announce their marriage. The couple has since moved to the sunny Gold Coast in Australia and are now proud parents to twin boys.

2. Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant from season 6

Meanwhile, season 6 sweethearts Jules and Cameron won over fans with their genuine connection. Jules, who was on a mission to find a husband and start a family, found her match in Cameron. Although it wasn't love at first sight, their bond quickly deepened, proving they were perfect for each other.

In a memorable moment during their final vows, Cameron romantically proposed to Jules, declaring: "Jules to me you are nothing short of perfect, and one thing I do know is that fate brought us together and for this I'm forever grateful. Jules I'm happy that I've took this chance with you and I honestly can't imagine a day in my life without you."

Today, Jules is a successful entrepreneur catering to the mum and baby market, frequently sharing heart-warming family snaps on Instagram. She and Cameron are still blissfully married, raising two cute sons together.

3. Kerry Knight and Johnny Balbuziente from season 8

Kerry and Johnny, another successful pair from season 8 of Married at First Sight, joined the show halfway through and certainly had their fair share of drama. Kerry was caught messaging her ex-husband during their honeymoon, while Johnny faced backlash for moaning about their lack of intimacy to the group.

Despite the rocky start, the couple made it to the final vows and two years after leaving the show, they got engaged in real life. They tied the knot in 2023 and announced the arrival of their baby girl a year later. The couple often give fans a glimpse into their life, including their recent move to a stunning new home in Brisbane.

4. Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli from season 6

Martha and Michael from season 6 are yet to walk down the aisle for real but they've been engaged since 2021 and are still going strong. They welcomed a son in 2023 and regularly share their family moments on Instagram and TikTok, where Martha boasts a following of over 250k.

The couple made it to the final vows, despite Martha's occasional attempts to change Michael's long-haired look. They're perhaps best remembered for their fiery reunion appearance, where Martha famously poured wine over another contestant's head during a heated argument.

Seasons 4 to 11 of Married at First Sight Australia are available to stream on All4.
