MAC brings back the iconic product Claudia Winkleman says she'd marry
We all have our ‘can’t live without’ beauty products, so we can only imagine Claudia Winkleman's devastation when MAC discontinued its iconic Fleshpot lipstick. ‘It’s the love of my life,’ The Traitors presenter once told me. ‘I’d marry a MAC Fleshpot if I could.’ And, considering it’s spent more time pressed up against her lips than her husband, I’m not even sure she was joking.
Now, though, in the most heartwarming ‘they were always destined to be together!’ reunion since Smithy and Nessa, Claudia and her beloved are poised to kiss and make up. MAC has just unveiled a new Nudes Edit, and Fleshpot is among the lip-smacking line-up of new must-haves and fan favourites brought out of the vault. Something old, something nude...
Returning in the form of MACximal Silky Matte Lipstick, Claudia’s forever lippy shade is officially a “warm light beige” but you might recognise it better from the presenter’s own description: “Tippex lips”.

A woman who knows what she likes and sticks to it, Claudia says she first discovered Fleshpot many years ago and instantly made it one half of her signature makeup look. “I've had the same makeup for the past 900 years – ie black eyeliner and Tippex – and I always look like a strange drunk pirate,” she told me. “I hope! Because that's what I’m going for.”
Fleshpot was discontinued several years back, so it’s quite likely that Claudia is keen for a restock by now, particularly as she described it as the one beauty product she’d rescue from a fire (did I mention that she’s fond of it?)
Before it was discontinued Claudia said of Fleshpot: “If I was out drinking margaritas with the girls and lost my phone, I’d cope, if I left my credit card at home, it wouldn’t be ideal, if I left my keys in the kitchen, I wouldn’t be over the moon but if I didn’t have my lipstick I’d feel bereft, small, lost. This is the only one for me. It was, quite simply love at first sight. When I first tried it on I just knew.”
