M&S has urgently recalled these chicken products over salmonella risk
Marks & Spencer has issued a recall of two of its chicken products – Crispy Southern Fried Chicken Burgers and two Chicken Kyivs – due to concerns they have been contaminated with salmonella, according to the Food Standards Agency.
The popular supermarket chain advised customers not to consume the affected items, since they may contain bacteria that can cause sickness. Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
The product recall notice stated: ‘customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks & Spencer and we take all issues regarding the production of our foods extremely seriously’.
Only ROI and Northern Ireland stores are affected.
The customer notice urged customers to ‘please do not consume this product’, before clarifying that ‘no other M&S products are affected'.
Anyone who has bought the items can return them at your nearest store for a full refund, with more information available via Marks & Spencer.
