Attention Jaffa Cake fans: the classic chocolate orange sweet treat has been mixed with booze to create a new cocktail ready for the Christmas party season.

The delightful drink is part of Marks & Spencer's Christmas 2018 range, which is being phased into stores nationwide from early autumn. Made with rum, the Jaffa cocktail is ready to drink, but the retailer recommends shaking it in a cocktail shaker before pouring it over ice and serving with a slice of orange.

The £10 bottle is the latest in a long line of dreamy alcohol creations from M&S, like the chocolate and peanut flavoured liqueur that landed in February and last year's melt in the middle chocolate version. There's no exact launch date for the new tipple just yet, but a spokesperson for the brand told Good Housekeeping that it's likely to be available from the end of September. So, it could come in handy for Halloween parties before the countdown to the festive season really gets started.

Other foodie highlights to look out for in the build-up to December include a jar of Scottish heather honey infused with single malt whisky (£6), a tin of Percy Pig biscuits (£5) and an espresso martini cocktail gift set (£30). Is it too early to start the Christmas shopping?
