M&S is launching dreamy pistachio-flavoured treat this weekend
If you've spent any time at all scrolling on social media recently (and we know you have), then you'll have noticed a certain bright-green nut stealing the show in several viral recipes.
The pistachio was the breakfast food star of 2024, with recipes, products and matcha lattes all including various iterations of the nut. Now, M&S is launching a brand-new product celebrating the creamy, nutty deliciousness of the popular kernel.
From Saturday 15 February, M&S' limited edition Collection Pistachio Crème will hit the Foodhall.
Created in Italy, the minds behind M&S' new pistachio-flavoured 'crème' suggest that its silky-smooth creaminess is best enjoyed spooned on to warm pancakes or crepes this pancake day, drizzled on to cakes or swirled into ice cream. They also say there's the option to spoon it straight from the jar, which we'll admit is extremely tempting.
Kathryn Turner, Director of Product Development at M&S, says the new treat was created in response to an enduring flavour trend. 'We've seen the pistachio trend explode in the past few months, both on restaurant menus and on social media, so it's a real focus for us as one of our top flavour trends this year,' she says.
'Our top-quality Collection Pistachio Crème is perfect for adding a touch of luxury to your day, whether you’re having a sweet snack, making an amazing dessert, or simply looking for something indulgent to top your pancakes,' she continues.
The new products adds to the existing range, including the Collection Chocolate Hazelnut Crème and the Hazelnut Crème.
The Collection Pistachio Creme will be available from Saturday 15 February 2025 in stores and online at Ocado.
