I’m a dog trainer here’s the one trick you can teach in 10 minutes which will always get your dog coming back
A dog-training expert has come to the help of struggling pet owners, with one simple command that can get any pup to return to your hand. Shannon an expert trainer from Paw Forward Dog Training in Leicestershire has come forward with this 10-minute top to make life easier for pet parents.
Dubbed the "touch" command, the trainer took to TikTok to teach the world the simple skill that doesn't require to venture out into the cold and wet weather and can be easily mastered in the comfort of your own home. To start teaching the command all you are going to need is a smelly treat, in the video, the trainer uses a small cube of cheddar cheese and a little bit of patience.
To start you are going to want to place the treat between your fingers hold it up to your four-legged and friend, and as soon as they touch your palm, you release the treat and say "yes," repeat this several times until your pooch starts to naturally head for your palm.
The second step involves leaving your palm out, this time without a treat. Now, whenever they touch your palm present them another treat out of a bag or your pocket, but importantly it has to be from your other hand. Again repeat this several times until your dog becomes comfortable with the action.
The trainer now adds: "When you're absolutely sure they're going to touch their nose to your hand, that's when you can add your cue 'touch,'" and repeat the previous step with the new command. The use of positive reinforcement techniques shows your dog that our hands are safe and creates a positive reaction when they come to your palm.

Hopefully with this reinforcement, whenever the "touch" command is called your dog will come hurtling back to you giving you a doggy high five. The video has already received a positive reaction with one commenter saying: "We love touch, a nice engagement game when out and about too!" While another added "We did touch when mine was a pup! Great one if I need him to get close quickly."
The video is already doing the rounds on social media with it clocking up nearly 100,000 views in just its first week.
