I’m a Celebrity viewers have lost their minds over Mo Farah’s Phil Mitchell impersonation.

The Olympic gold medallist was shown playing the EastEnders character in a scene written by his campmate Shane Richie, who starred in the BBC soap as Alfie Moon.

Richie reprised the role of Moon for the funny scene, which saw Farah’s Phil Mitchell threatening the former Queen Vic landlord.

However, Farah kept fluffing his lines and, at one point, referred to Pat Butcher – the character who was played by Pam St Clement – as “Bat” Butcher.

Farah’s effort had viewers in hysterics, with many calling it the funniest moment of the series so far.

“That was best scene of the whole series,” one viewer wrote, with another adding: “Loved this. Favourite part of the entire series.”

Another fan stated: “Mo Farah playing Phil Mitchell is the greatest moment of television I’ve ever witnessed."

TV blogger Elliot Gonzalez quipped: “Who would have thought at the start of 2020, that towards the end of the year we’d be watching Sir Mo Farah pretending to be Phil Mitchell in a castle in Wales!"

Farah was voted off in Wednesday night’s episode (2 December) alongside Strictly star AJ Pritchard, meaning the pair finished in sixth and fifth place.

This year’s series will be crowned in tomorrow night’s episode (4 December).
