I’m A Celeb fans say key part of show is ‘missing’ calling it 'really strange’
There’s been rain, a secret mission, creepy crawlies and testing trials on the new series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! But fans have noticed that one favourite element of the reality series has yet to make an appearance, and that is the eating trial. Watching celebrities eat disgusting animal body parts and foul smelling fruit and vegetables is a traditional part of the I’m A Celeb experience, and fans have taken to social media wondering why a proper eating trial hasn’t happened yet.
“We’ve now had 4 trials and none of them have been an eating trial, just seems kinda strange as there is usually one in the first 4 or so,” said one viewer. "Has it only been like 4 days, and it started with a gross milkshake," wrote another, referring to the drinks that some of the celebrities had to gulp down before joining the race to the camp during the first episode.
Another said: “Yeah all they have had is confined space trials this year,” while a fourth added: "They're probably so desperate for a bit of animal protein thanks to Dean they'd probably wolf down whatever was put in front of them without thinking too much."

One fan may have figured it out when they wrote: "Eating trials seem to be quite popular. They may be waiting for the right time. I'm guessing Saturday to help gain the viewers maybe?"
Ant and Dec did reveal at the end of Friday 22 November’s episode that an eating trial is finally on the cards for Saturday, and it looks like Richard and Maura will be the ones to sample delights such as witchetty grubs and camel penis.
Before that, on Friday night’s spin-off show Unpacked, co-host Sam Thompson, who was King of the Jungle last year, brought on a selection of jungle “treats” that are used in eating trials for his fellow hosts, Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers, along with guest Clara Amfo. Clara wisely refused the witchetty grubs and vomit fruit, but Joel, who was on the series in 2016, bravely tried a grub before gagging and spitting it out.
Kemi, meanwhile, tried some vomit fruit and then had to grab for a bowl and be sick in it, which she did very discreetly. It was then Sam’s turn, and despite having tried all the delicacies during camp trials last year, he had barely got a grub in his mouth before he started retching. “I’m so sorry,” he said to everyone as he started throwing up, and Joel apologised to anyone who would be watching the show during their lunch the next day.
