M.A.C. to honour Whitney Houston with make-up collection

The team at M.A.C. Cosmetics is gearing up to release a make-up line inspired by Whitney Houston.

Last year, Sony executives announced they were making a biopic called I Wanna Dance with Somebody about the life and legacy of the music icon, who died tragically died in 2012 at the age of 48, with British actress Naomi Ackie to star.

Now, executives of the Whitney Houston Estate have granted bosses at M.A.C. permission to create a beauty line in tribute to Whitney, with make-up artists to use the products in the film.

"Whitney was always a champion of women feeling beautiful whether it was a major event or just for everyday wear, our work with M.A.C. is about creating a line that can meet all of those needs. The line will be true to her colours that she loved to work with," Whitney's sister-in-law and former manager, Pat Houston, told People. "The idea that is coming to fruition now is something Whitney always wanted to do. I'm pleased we can do something that I know she would have loved. We are just starting on this collaboration but exciting things are coming!"

While exact details are under wraps, Pat hinted the collection will include a homage to Whitney’s go-to shades of red and brown lipstick.

The line is expected to be released around the same time I Wanna Dance with Somebody hits cinemas in December 2022.
