Lucie Donlan embarks on 'exciting' new venture with Luke Mabbott - 'It makes sense'
Lucie Donlan and Luke Mabbott have shared some “exciting news” as the couple embark on their latest project together.
The pair, who recently celebrated a wholesome weekend celebrating Lucie’s parents’ wedding, took to Instagram to share the announcement where they revealed that they were starting their own YouTube account together.
During their time together, Lucie, 26, and 28 year old Luke have been busy transforming their stunning cottage home though embarked on a new chapter in January 2024 when they purchased a chapel in Newquay.
Alongside Luke’s electrician brother Liam, the Love Island couple are in the process of transforming the chapel into an open-plan house – and fans can now follow their journey every step of the way.
After being asked about the project, Lucie and Luke have now created a YouTube channel dedicated to the renovation journey under the account name The Cornish Chapel, which has already amassed over 20,000 subscribers.
“So we’ve got some exciting news guys. Because we’ve had so many questions on the chapel, we thought it was probably best to set up a YouTube on the chapel journey,” Lucie explained.
Luke added: “It kind of made sense like, we’ve been documenting the whole journey anyway and there’s so much you haven’t saw.”
The pair’s happy news comes almost three years after the couple got engaged during a romantic trip to Finland in December 2021.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Luke shared a photo on his social media page and wrote in the caption: “Mrs Mabbott to be” followed by a ring and heart emoji.
He added: “The northern lights made an appearance for the perfect moment to pop the question. A night we will never forget..”
After rumours that they had struck up a romance first emerged in June 2020, Lucie and Luke went public with their relationship in July 2020 when they enjoyed a lavish getaway together.
In an interview with new! In January 2021, Lucie gushed over her beau and called him her “best friend”.
She said: “We’ve been together six months now and it’s been a dream. I never thought I’d meet someone like him. He’s a best friend as well as a boyfriend. Luke is so calm and caring. He’s very positive and I just love spending every minute with him.”
And when asked if an engagement was on the cards in 2021 she giggled and said: “I hope so!”
