Marriage to Michael Jackson
In May 1994, Lisa Marie shocked the showbiz world when she married Michael Jackson in the Dominican Republic just 20 days after her divorce from Danny Keough. The wedding brought together the King of Pop and the King of Rock and Roll's daughter. Many commentators believed it to be a marriage of convenience as the nuptials came in the wake of Jackson's 1993 child abuse scandal. The 'Billie Jean' singer had been accused by Evan Chandler of abusing his 13-year-old son Jordan and he eventually settled out of court for $25 million. But Lisa Marie and Michael - who had initially met in Las Vegas in 1974 - had developed a friendship in 1992 that had blossomed into a romance. Lisa Marie publicly spoke about the accusations, insisting she always believed he was innocent. She said: "I believed he didn't do anything wrong, and that he was wrongly accused and, yes, I started falling for him. I wanted to save him. I felt that I could do it." They eventually separated in January 1996 with Lisa Marie filing for divorce for "irreconcilable differences".©BANG Showbiz - 8/11
The King of Pop was a Thriller in bed
Lisa Marie revealed that the King of Pop was a Thriller in the bedroom. She said: "He was extraordinary in bed." And apparently he always did it in his clothes. Lisa Marie claimed that never saw Michael naked or with his face washed. On their first night together, the pop star asked her to be in the bedroom in the dark, when they finished he ran to the bathroom and came out after 20 minutes wearing make-up, pyjamas and a dressing gown. Lisa Marie also said he asked her to wear expensive jewellery to bed and to dress up between the sheets.©BANG Showbiz - 9/11
Scientology beliefs
Along with her first husband Danny Keough, Lisa Marie became a prominent member of Scientology. In fact, it was on one of the church's yachts that the couple celebrated their honeymoon and raised their two children in the Church of Scientology. After years of devotion, Lisa Marie turned her back on Scientology in 2014.©BANG Showbiz - 10/11
Death of her son Benjamin
For Lisa, the death of her son Benjamin was insurmountable. Benjamin took his own life at the age of just 27 after struggling with addiction for years. His body was found in July 2020 in the family mansion in Calabasas. In August 2022, Lisa Presley wrote an essay in People magazine in which she said: "Death is part of life whether we like it or not — and so is grieving. There is so much to learn and understand on the subject, but here's what I know so far: One is that grief does not stop or go away in any sense, a year, or years after the loss. Grief is something you will have to carry with you for the rest of your life, in spite of what certain people or our culture wants us to believe. You do not 'get over it,' you do not 'move on,' period."©BANG Showbiz - 11/11
Opioid addiction
In January 2006, Lisa married guitarist Michael Lockwood. They had two girls, twins Harper and Finley, in October 2008. However, not everything went according to plan, as after the birth, her doctor prescribed her pain pills, and she ended up hooked. As the star herself recounted in the foreword to the book 'The United States of Opioids': "It only took a short-term prescription for opioids in the hospital for me to feel the need to keep taking them. Ten years after her last marriage, hooked on drugs and broke, Lisa Marie Presley filed for divorce, accusing her partner of possessing illegal material.©BANG Showbiz
