We love Tom Daley's latest stunning knitted bag project

Tom Daley isn't just a former Olympic diver – he's also a seriously talented knitter and crocheter. And we're blown away by his latest project: a stunning bag knitted with climbing rope.

Tom took to his Made With Love Instagram page to share his latest knitting project. In a video, he held up the crossbody bag, knitted with green climbing rope, and talked through how he made it.

He said: "This is a climbing rope bag and I used 20mm knitting needles, which seems excessive and it actually hurt my hands a little bit to make. But I think it's super cute!"

He continued: "It's a really cute over the shoulder bag. It can fit your phone, your keys, everything in it that you might need just to go out and about quickly. And it's really robust and strong because it's climbing rope."

Tom recommends adding to the project by "putting a little drawstring bag inside" to line it.

He finished the video by saying: "I think it's super cute, don't you think? I love it".

Tom knitted his bag using stocking stitch, which requires knit and purl stitches. You can learn how to knit stocking stitch with our video tutorial here. He used 20mm knitting needles for this project, which you can buy on Amazon.

This isn't the first project of Tom's which has impressed us – we loved his crochet croissant bag stitched at the Olympics, and his Paris-themed knitted jumper was fabulous, too.

We can't wait to see what Tom makes next!
