Love Island 2019 star Anna Vakili has returned to work as a pharmacist amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Anna quit her old job before heading into the Love Island villa last summer. Telling fans why she's chosen to go back to her former profession, she said: "It felt wrong not to."

Alongside a picture of herself in the pharmacy, Anna wrote on Instagram: "First day back working as a Pharmacist since leaving Love Island. It’s been almost a whole year!

"Wow can’t believe how fast it’s gone. Wasn’t really planning on registering yet but with everything that’s going on it felt wrong not to. We can all fight this together. Stay safe. Stay home. Save lives 💙."

"I am so proud of you," fellow Islander Amy Hart wrote, while Francesca Allan commented, "SUPERSTAR! Kind soul 💖❤️ love you xxxxx."

Anna previously opened up to Glamour about her career just before heading into the villa, saying it "wasn't for me".

The Love Island star, who has had a change of heart given the extreme circumstances, explained: "The honest answer is that I don’t really want to go back to pharmacy. It was five years of training, so long, but I think I knew throughout the whole time it wasn’t for me. Coming from a Middle Eastern background, they’re quite strict on education and you have to do pharmacy, medicine or dentistry.

"I wouldn’t say my parents were over the moon with me going on the show, 'Woo, we forced her to do pharmacy and now she’s going on reality TV', but they’re not against it either. They’re like, 'We forced her to do that and if she wants to take her route, we have to let her spread her wings'."
