Love Island star's vicious swipe at Maura Higgins shortly before she enters I'm A Celeb jungle
A Love Island legend has hit out at fellow Islander Maura Higgins for not keeping their “name out of her mouth”. Curtis Pritchard, who dated Maura after coupling up with her on the ITV2 show in 2019, has taken a swipe at his ex amid rumours that she could potentially be entering this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.
Curtis’ comments come after Maura, 33, spoke about her decision to couple up with Curtis in the Love Island villa during a recent appearance on Paul C Brunson’s We Need To Talk podcast. During the interview, the TV personality called him a “why not” man and said she only paired up with him as there were limited men on the show.
And now, Curtis, 28, has responded to Maura’s words. “I’ve no idea what’s she done. I don’t even know what Podcast you’re on about. I have no idea,” he told The Sun while at the the Irish Post Awards.

“She can’t keep my name out of her mouth, can she?,” he continued, adding that he wouldn’t listen to Maura’s remarks anytime soon.
While speaking to Paul on his podcast, Maura explained that Curtis wasn’t her “dream man”, but she gave him a chance as there was nobody else on her radar in the villa. “When you're locked in a house, I say locked but you're in a house and you're in there for X amount of time. You're going to start liking people that you wouldn't normally like,” she said.
“Not to be mean but you are, you're in there. I'm pretty sure it would probably be the same on Big Brother. You're locked in a house, you're not seeing any other men. You're going to be like ‘why not’.”
After finishing Love Island 2019 in fourth place, Maura and Curtis continued their relationship outside of the villa. However, the pair called time on their relationship after seven months together.
Since then, Curtis has struck up a romance with Sophie Sheridan after meeting during a pantomime production of Cinderella in Wolverhampton in 2021. Meanwhile, Maura is reportedly dating TOWIE star Pete Wicks after the pair were reportedly seen looking cosy while at the Pride Of Britain afterparty earlier this year.
Pete, who is currently taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, has previously opened up about love life and has revealed his desire to start a family. “I'm nearly 36. I want to get married and have kids. I've been blessed with so many opportunities, but what's the point if I can't share them with anyone,” the told The Times.
“Right now, I'm not ready to wholeheartedly commit to a romantic relationship because I don't fully understand myself yet. I would love to find a wife, but you know what? I may end up one of those men who dies alone.”
