Lorraine Kelly shared her pride at becoming a grandparent for the very first time, as her daughter Rosie gave birth to a baby girl.
Taking to social media, Lorraine reposted a sweet photograph of her new granddaughter's tiny hand in a sweet, heart-printed baby-grow. The ITV presenter said she had "been BURSTING to share this wonderful news", adding that she was "so proud" of her daughter and new mum Rosie Kelly-Smith, and new dad Steve who she said would be "the best parents."
The post, which was shared from Rosie's own Instagram account, revealed that the new little one had been named Billie Kelly Smith-White, who Lorraine described as "an angel".
In a caption, Lorraine also shared the grandparent nickname she would be adopting, writing "I’m delighted to be Granny Smith and can’t wait to go on adventures." Although Billie's birth was announced on Sunday (1 September), the little one was actually born last Thursday (29 August).
Speaking on her show Lorraine on Monday (2 September) Lorraine gushed about her new granddaughter and praised Rosie, saying "she's just taken to it, I knew she would, she's super organised" and commended dad Steve for being "brilliant" too.
Of her new arrival, Rosie said in the post, "It feels like she’s been here the whole time and we’re not quite sure what the point of anything was before," adding, "she’s been welcomed into the world with so much love already."
Welcome to the world, Billie!
