After a year of sitting on the sofa in tracksuits with grown out roots and only a face mask adorning our skin, the time for make-up has finally arrived.

Hailing its return is a collision between haute couture and beauty's finest: L'Oréal x Elie Saab.

'My passion has always been to make women feel beautiful and make-up has the ability to highlight everywoman’s natural beauty,' says the designer on his collection with the industry giant. 'As the finishing touch to a look or an accessible way into the world of couture, make-up allows every woman to experience a touch of ELIE SAAB magic.'

And magic is what this collection is. Comprised of four lipsticks, a mascara, three lip glosses and a nine shade eyeshadow palette, all wrapped up in Saab's signature oh-so expensive looking beige rose packaging, L'Oréal x Elie Saab has given your entire make-up bag a fantastical haute couture update.

With embossed lipstick bullets, gold hardware and a mirrored compact so intricate you'll want to apply eyeshadow at every al fresco drinks date just to show it off, Saab's first foray into beauty is more luxury than mass market. Speaking on the collection, Global Make-Up Artist for L'Oréal Paris, Val Garland, notes:

'I’m always in awe of the craftsmanship in Elie Saab’s couture designs; the exquisite hand sewn embroideries and embellishments and his signature fantasy creations that we all anticipate seeing everyParis Fashion Week. I wanted to translate his vision with make-up, by incorporating subtle shimmer finishes in the gloss and dazzling glitters in the eye shadows to truly reflect his designs.'

There's never been a better time to get a bit bouji with your beauty. As Val puts it: 'I wanted to add a touch of haute couture into women’s everyday make-up, so I created a collection with lipglosses, a mascara and an eyeshadow palette that can be worn during the daytime and all the way into the evening. After all, we all need a bit of magic in our lives - especially now - don't we?'
