Loose Women star Denise Welch 'shut down' co-star Kaye Adams with a hand gesture during a discussion about Joe Biden and ageism amid the upcoming US elections.
Joe Biden, 81, has been facing backlash due to his seemingly frail health - a concern for many Americans, both home and abroad, as they decide who to back in the upcoming presidential election.
On Tuesday, June 18, the Loose Women panel debated whether the media coverage surrounding the White House resident was ageist, showing prejudice towards his advanced years.
Biden has recently sparked concerns over his ability to lead a nation as he's been seen at major events appearing confused and wandering off alone, leaving others to remind him of his commitments.
As the discussion kicked off, Kaye Adams expressed her surprise that notoriously outspoken Denise Welch had kept quiet. "I can't believe that you've kept quiet all this time", Kaye quipped, before Denise gave a hand gesture to 'silence' her, indicating she was just biding her time.
Moments later, however, the former Coronation Street star broke her silence, and didn't hold back on her opinions.
Denise initially took a measured approach, reminding her co-stars and viewers about the existence of AI fakery, before adding: "At the age of 81, we've seen enough of Biden to know that the man is struggling."
Denise spotlighted the fact that the hostility aimed at Joe Biden intensified once he had settled into his presidency, a quite noteworthy shift as earlier detractions towards Joe Biden were viewed as "cruel".
The star's patience waned when her fellow presenter Kaye brought up evidence potentially indicating that Joe Biden might not be up to script for his role, prompting Denise to declare: "Since Covid I believe nothing anybody says in the government or anything! I don't believe a word of it."
Adding on to her point, she revealed: "However, there is somebody that I know that was at a conference with Joe Biden at the White House. There are absolutely massive errors being made in the way that he is functioning. We know that he's probably a puppet."
Next, she reminded viewers about the formidable challenges facing American citizens and their President Joe Biden, stating: "It's the biggest power in the world and we've got the choice between a criminally convicted felon, candidate Donald Trump, and we have an 81 year old man clearly showing signs of not being well. Is there not any other people in America that can run the country?"
Her timely comments sparked a bevy of responses from viewers, with one taking to X to share: "I don't think we see enough of Joe Biden to make an informed decision. We all know the media heavily manipulates what we do see, however I'm not sure someone of 81, who has shown he has some problems, is capable of making the decisions Biden needs to make."
One social media user suggested: "They should let Kamala stand for President."
