Loose Women star Sophie Morgan has announced she’s ‘parting ways’ with the ITV programme, as she shared a huge life update with her fans, along with some exciting career news.

The 39 year old disability rights advocate revealed that she is moving to the US – something she called a ‘dream’ – and she will be working between LA and the UK.

In an Instagram post, Sophie wrote: "Firstly, as some of you know, it has been a dream of mine to live and work in the US for some time now, and it has finally become a reality. I find life here so accessible; I feel like a different person, more free and less disabled – thanks partly to the ADA, the weather and the general positivity!

"I will be based between LA & London and am excited to continue sharing my adventures with you all. Hope you don't mind!"

She also revealed she's leaving Loose Women after more than two and a half years on the ITV show as she said: "I also wanted to update you on the latest with Loose Women. Whilst I had an incredible time working there (it was a dream platform for a disabled woman with a lot to say), the time has come to part ways."

The presenter added: "I am very proud to have been part of their groundbreaking work, including campaigns such as 'Body Stories' - which celebrated body diversity & confidence - 'Facing It Together' - a campaign about domestic abuse - &, of course, my baby, 'Rights on Flights' which was born on the show last year (Sally, thank you)."

Sophie continued: "I hope many more Disabled and underrepresented women get the chance to be on the panel to help educate and inform.

"Last but not least, my campaigning & advocacy work for equity in air travel underpins everything I do. Whilst I'm not constantly updating social media with RoF content, please know the work is relentless. We've made some unbelievable progress but still have a long way to go."

While Sophie is leaving Loose Women, she shared some incredibly exciting career news with her followers.

She revealed: "Secondly, work-wise, in addition to setting up Making Space, I have just landed the biggest broadcast gig of my career & I'll give that the time, platform & excitement it deserves on here as soon as I'm allowed!

"In the meantime (I have been dying to shout about this), for the past 18 months, I've been working on a new Channel 4 documentary, & it will be out VERY soon. Co-Produced by Hello Sunshine (Reese Witherspoons game- changing production company), this doc is set to be a trailblazing piece of television which combines my two foremost passions, authentic representation in TV & disability rights. It's been a real labour of love for me & everyone involved, so watch this space."

Sophie sustained a T6 spinal cord injury in a road accident in 2003 when she was 18, leaving her paralysed from the chest down.

She joined the Loose Women panel in November 2021.
