London travel news LIVE: Trains to and from Victoria hit by major disruption expected until end of day

Major disruption has hit trains running to and from London Victoria, and is expected to last until the end of Thursday.

Trains running between London Victoria and Southampton, and London Victoria and Bognor Regis are affected by the issues, caused by an earlier fault with line-side equipment in Sussex.

Trains between Brighton and Portsmouth, Littlehampton, and Southampton are also affected.

All railway lines have now reopened following the fault, but National Rail warns journeys will still be “severely” delayed.

It is asking passengers to “please delay traveling until later in the day, if you are able to”.

“If you're travelling now, your journey will take up to 60 minutes longer than usual, and you may need to use an alternative route to reach your destination,” it added shortly after 6pm.

The Northern Line is also part-suspended due to engineering works.

Until end of service today, there is no service on the Northern Line between Golders Green and Edgware due to planned engineering works. Replacement buses are in operation.
