1. The Big Picture Little Picture competition (“Competition”) is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Republic of Ireland aged 18 years or over, except for employees of Telegraph Media Group Limited, their families or anyone else associated with this competition.

2. All information detailing how to enter this Competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions. 

3. The Competition has two children’s age categories:

  • Under 8 years of age;

Aged 9 to 18 years.

3. To enter this competition, entrants must submit by email a holiday/travel themed photograph taken by an under-18 of who they are the parent or guardian to thebigpicture@telegraph.co.uk.  Entrants must add “The Little Picture” to the subject line.  Entries must include the child’s name and age; the entrant’s name, address and telephone number; and a brief description of why the photograph’s scene is special to the child.  Image files must be 200 dpi and between 1MB and 3MB.  We regret that we are unable to accept postal entries.

4. All entries must be received by midnight on Friday, September 1, 2017.

5. All images submitted must be the work of the individual on whose behalf the entry is submitted and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that the image they submit has been taken with the permission of any featured persons and does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is the work of the individual on whose behalf it is being submitted and that that individual owns the copyright in it.

6. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective photographer. However, each photographer grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence

to Telegraph Media Group Limited to feature their submitted image in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.

7. Only one entry per person. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.  The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry which it believes, in its sole opinion to be offensive or otherwise inappropriate, not in the spirit of the Competition or that infringes these terms and conditions.

8. The winning entry will be that that is judged to be the most visually appealing, original and self-explanatory. The winner will be notified within seven days of the closing date of the Competition.

9. Each age category has one winner.  The prizes are as follow:

Under 8 years of age:

  •       Vtech Kidizoom Duo (vtech.co.uk), worth £52.99     

Aged 9 to 18 years

  •       a Nikon D3400 digital camera (nikon.co.uk) worth £519     

10. The winners’ names and counties may be disclosed to anyone who writes within one month after the published closing date of the Competition, enclosing a stamped addressed envelope, to The Big Picture Winner, Travel Desk, The Daily Telegraph, 111 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 0DT.

11. The prizes as described are available on the date of publication. All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

12. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.

13. The Telegraph is responsible for the first part of the promotion, which is the publication and adjudication of the competition. All other facilities connected with the provision of the prize are the responsibility of Nikon.

14. English law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts shall prevail.
