Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock is starring in her own film

Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock is branching out from the music world into acting, and her first film is out a lot sooner than you might expect.

Reports first surfaced last year detailing Leigh-Anne's role in upcoming rom-com Boxing Day, and we can finally see Leigh-Anne in action thanks to the film's new trailer.

So exciting!

Boxing Day is out in cinemas on 3 December, meaning we only have two months to wait before watching Leigh-Anne's big screen debut. The Little Mix star plays Georgia, a musical superstar and ex-girlfriend of the film's main character, Melvin.

In the trailer we see British author Melvin (played by Aml Ameen) returning home to London from the US for Christmas, as he introduces his fiancée Lisa (Aja Naomi King) to his family. The couple's relationship is put to the test as Lisa learns more about Melvin's past, including his relationship with Leigh-Anne's Georgia.

Have a watch of the trailer below. As expected, Leigh-Anne kills it.

Back in March, it was revealed Leigh-Anne had signed a solo deal with an entertainment PR agency for projects across music, film and TV (in addition to her Little Mix commitments) so we can't wait to see what else the artist has in store.

Speaking about his decision to cast Leigh-Anne in Boxing Day, the film's lead actor, writer and producer, Aml Ameen, told Digital Spy he was "hell-bent on finding my Julia Roberts from My Best Friend's Wedding or Notting Hill" for the role of Georgia.

"I wanted someone with the characteristics of those roles," he explained. "I was looking for someone who could sing too. My writing partner, Bruce Purnell, said that I had to check out this girl and showed me Leigh-Anne. I didn't know Little Mix at the time."

Aml continued, explaining how his decision to cast Leigh-Anne came about. "One of the casting directors got in touch with her, and she filmed a tape," he said. "When I watched it, I saw something incredible in there. Now I know her really well, and she's one of the most wonderful people I've ever met in my life.

"She's got so much humanity; so sensitive, so down to earth. That's what made her the superstar she is, and why people love her so much, and these are the aspects I really wanted in the character of Georgia."

We can't wait to watch it!
